Imagine Cup is the world's biggest technology competition for students. Now in its ninth year, students from more than 70 countries around the globe come together to compete with solutions that aim to address the world's toughest problems, including child mortality, environmental concerns and women's rights.

For the first time since the competition began in 2001, the Worldwide Finals will be held in New York City. NYC will host the big event that brings the top 400+ students from around the world to compete in six primary technological areas plus multiple additional awards to recognize specific achievements.

Along with Peter you will meet Andrew Parsons, the Microsoft Academic Developer Evangelist for NYC. Andrew will announce the upcoming training events for students where they will learn the latest development technologies for the phone and for the cloud that will help them prepare to compete in the Imagine Cup.

Peter Tripp Bio

Peter serves as the Chief Technology Officer at the Robin Hood Foundation, which targets poverty in New York City by funding the most effective programs to achieve maximum results. As CTO, Peter is responsible for the transformation of capital; program and/or political, into technology in furtherance of the foundation’s mission of fighting poverty through platform optimization and scale of use.

Peter comes from the Unisys Corporation, Blue Bell, PA where he served as Chief Strategy Officer for the outsourcing division. He worked closely with key clients in leveraging technology to drive top line revenue growth initiatives that lead to sustainable business models. His team managed innovation blueprinting, portfolio analysis, and direction of a $4.5B business.

In addition to his corporate work, Peter has been involved in several startup ventures and continues to find excitement in the innovation of technology to solve big and small problems. He has presented at numerous conferences and has been recognized for his contributions by the industry with participation at the World Economic Forum and roles on strategic architect and advisory councils. He continues to work across several sectors in developing complimentary business models for substantive programs that intersect business, missions, passion and technology. He is an alumnus of Syracuse University and Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, where he also has been inducted as a Fellow.
